Homework:  Outline and write up the story "The Fox and the Crow" by Aesop (follows here).  Be sure to create three paragraphs of 5-7 sentences each.  This will require you to ask yourself all the questions on the "Story Sequence Chart".  Naturally, you should include all dress ups (I especially would like to see cleverly-selected adjectives and adverbs), and avoid banned words.

The Fox and the Crow
an Aesop Fable

A fox was walking through the forest when he saw a crow sitting on a tree branch with a fine piece of cheese in her beak. The fox wanted the cheese and decided he would be clever enough to outwit the bird.

"What a noble and gracious bird I see in the tree!" proclaimed the fox, "What exquisite beauty! What fair plumage! If her voice is as lovely as her beauty, she would no doubt be the jewel of all birds."

The crow was so flattered by all this talk that she opened her beak and gave a cry to show the fox her voice.

"Caw! Caw!" she cried, as the cheese dropped to the ground for the fox to grab.

Find at least 3 more synonyms for "eat" (banned verb).  See how creative you can be!

Choose one of the fables from this website.  Create a key-word outline, and write up the story using your Story Sequence Chart.  Here, the fables are very short, almost too succinct.  When writing up your story, remember to ask yourself what would I ______ (insert five senses)?  This week, each of the three paragraphs should have at least seven sentences, you should use all of your dress ups, and avoid all banned words.  Don't forget an alluring title!

Select another fable from the above website and create a KWO and composition.  This time, try to make it really *scary*.  Use all of your dress ups in each paragraph (including the new one, the Adverbial Clause), and avoid all banned words.

Learn the first stanza for the new poem (#8) and review all Greek and Latin root words.
